Aosta Iacta Est
Aosta Iacta Est is an Italian non-profit organisation that promotes community development through games for children and adults. Aosta Iacta Est, based in Aosta, organises fun nights, tournaments and meetings and is behind giocAosta (Aosta Play), a big summer festival where thousands of people play for 4 days in the centre of the city.
I have volunteered for Aosta Iacta Est for a few years: during my time as a volunteer, besides playing a lot of board games (I love the visual ones where you have to draw, like Pictionary!) I managed Web Communication & Social Media Marketing and created several graphic materials for Web and Print.
In August 2014 I created a Social Media Marketing strategy for giocAosta – during the entire month of August, I followed a communication plan using games, graphics and news to promote the festival. I also organised a challenge on Instagram and we awarded prizes to the best pictures. Finally, I helped a few friends create a funny video to promote giocAosta and we even recorded a bespoke jingle! At the end of the month we observed a 40% engagement increase on Facebook (likes + profile visits) and a 60% increase in followers on Instagram. Around 8.000 people visited the festival and played board games from 22 to 24th August – an amazing result, considering the city of Aosta has 30.000 residents!
