At Atlas I worked as solo in-house designer across the whole digital journey, designing user-centred solutions to complex problems and injecting design thinking into processes.
Atlas was born as the Innovation Lab of ATS Global – something that made the company and its offering quite unique. We had the opportunity to work with the bigger automotive and manufacturing brands that were collaborating with ATS Global, and provide them our platform and offerings in a streamlined way.
Our team, composed by seven Engineers and Developers, an Innovation lead, a Data Analyst and myself worked in a lean and agile way, developing a go-to-market strategy that could take a product used internally by big companies and make it self-service for anyone who wanted to use it. We started with a lot of questions: what is our offering? How can we make this a great product that people will want to use on the go? How can we educate users on what we do?
Our strategy was following a parallel track: on the one side, developing a market offering, a new interactive website with useful educational contents, and a series of videos to explain what we were doing. On the other side, improve our products as much as possible, both from a UX and UI point of view. In the span of 14 months I conducted research with our users and designed a series of new features to increase our offering and usability.
We came a long way from where we started from, with a series of new features released to our users, from new permissions and versioning to a monitoring and planning feature. Our internal users were extremely impressed with how far the product had come in the span of a few months, and we got had a solid product that was ready to be launched to the public.
It was a real joy to make a series of complex products more usable and accessible, so that more people could create their SaaS applications using a powerful software.
