The Sketchbook Project

A beginner's guide to social reintroduction

An illustrated guide to a new normal in a digital world after a global pandemic

The Sketchbook Project is a crowd-sourced library that features 45,000 artists' books contributed by creative people from 135+ countries.

This is a sketchbook generated by myself and my husband Ben Stanton, created during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 during the first lockdown. We wanted to express complex feelings of a complex period, and we approached the sketchbook to narrate a social commentary on how life has changed after COVID-19.

In our 'Beginner's Guide to Social Reintroduction' we illustrated 15 words with ink pens and watercolour, creating new meanings and contexts. We loved combining our art and thoughts, grateful we were lucky enough to spend the lockdown together.
